The Cemara Rug

Cemara — the Indonesian word for pine, a tree that grows tall by growing slowly. This rug carries that same patient elegance: a hand-tufted traditional pattern with a balanced composition that reveals new details the longer you live with it, rewarding attention the way only genuinely crafted objects do.

The tonal palette leans towards forest greens and warm neutrals — colours that make Indian rooms feel cooler in summer and richer in winter. It is the kind of rug that makes whitewashed walls sing and terracotta floors feel intentional.

Hand-tufted in Bhadohi from Pure New Zealand Wool. The tufting technique allows for crisp pattern edges and a pile density that holds footprints momentarily — a small pleasure you will notice every morning walking to the kitchen.
