The design

The Caesar Rug

Named for an emperor, the Caesar demands a room worthy of its presence. This is not a subtle rug. It is a hand-knotted declaration — a traditional pattern executed with the kind of density and precision that takes weeks of unbroken focus on the loom.

The design draws from imperial carpet traditions — medallion-centred compositions that were once commissioned for palace floors. In a modern Indian home, that same composition transforms a living room into something that feels inherited, as though the rug arrived with the house and the house was built to honour it.

Hand-knotted in Bhadohi from Pure New Zealand Wool. Each individual knot is tied by hand, row by row, creating a density of construction that gives the rug a weight, a firmness, and a longevity that no other technique can match. This is heirloom craft.
