The design

The Caecum Rug

The Caecum is a rug for rooms that take themselves seriously — and should. A hand-tufted traditional design with a decorator-friendly medallion composition that draws the eye inward, creating a visual anchor point around which everything else in the room falls into order.

Think of it beneath an heirloom dining table during a family gathering, or under a four-poster bed where the mornings begin slowly. The pattern has the unhurried elegance of designs that have been refined not over seasons, but over centuries.

Hand-tufted in Bhadohi from Pure New Zealand Wool — each tufted loop punched individually by an artisan's hand. The 20mm pile gives the medallion centre a raised, sculptural quality that flat-printed rugs can only dream of.

Pure New Zealand wool, hand-spun and dyed in small batches, with stain-repellent treatment. Vacuum gently without a beater bar; blot spills immediately with a dry cloth and use professional cleaning for deep care.
