The design

The Ashlar Rug

In masonry, ashlar refers to finely cut stone — precise, smooth, perfectly fitted. This rug carries that same philosophy underfoot. A single, unbroken tone in Pure New Zealand Wool that gives a room the clean, grounded confidence of a well-laid stone floor, but with warmth that stone could never offer.

The Ashlar is not trying to be noticed. It is trying to make everything else in the room look better — your mid-century console, your brass floor lamp, your grandmother's framed photograph. It does this by being unapologetically simple and uncompromisingly well-made.

Handcrafted in Bhadohi with a 20mm luxury pile that springs back underfoot. The solid colour has a subtle tonal variation visible only up close — proof that a human hand, not a machine roller, built this surface.

Pure New Zealand wool, hand-spun and dyed in small batches, with stain-repellent treatment. Vacuum gently without a beater bar; blot spills immediately with a dry cloth and use professional cleaning for deep care.
