The design

The Agate Rug

Cut open an agate stone and you find layers — concentric rings of colour laid down over centuries, each band telling its own geological story. The Agate rug captures that same stratified beauty in wool: balanced negative space, carefully restrained tonal shifts, and a surface that rewards attention the way natural minerals do.

This is a rug for rooms that already have strong furniture — leather sofas, marble-topped side tables, dark wood shelving. The Agate does not compete. It complements, with the quiet authority of something genuinely well-designed.

Handcrafted in Bhadohi from Pure New Zealand Wool. The pattern gradations are achieved through skilled yarn selection, not printing — meaning the design lives within the wool structure itself and will look as rich in year ten as it does today.

Pure New Zealand wool, hand-spun and dyed in small batches, with stain-repellent treatment. Vacuum gently without a beater bar; blot spills immediately with a dry cloth and use professional cleaning for deep care.

Every RUGKARI rug is made to order by our Bhadohi atelier and dispatched in about 10 days. Shipping is free and insured across India, with doorstep delivery, order tracking and a GST invoice on every order.
