The Abrash Rug

There is a particular quality of light that enters a room when the floor beneath it has depth — not just colour, but the subtle tonal shifts that only hand-tufted wool can produce. The Abrash brings exactly this: a traditional pattern rendered with the kind of abrash variation that tells you immediately this was made by a person, not a programme.

Named after the natural colour gradation that occurs when artisan-dyed wool meets human hands on a tufting gun, this rug celebrates imperfection as a mark of authenticity. Each piece carries its own tonal fingerprint.

Hand-tufted in Bhadohi by artisans who have perfected this technique over decades. Pure New Zealand Wool, 20mm pile depth — the kind of density you feel through your socks on a winter morning.

Pure New Zealand wool, hand-spun and dyed in small batches, with stain-repellent treatment. Vacuum gently without a beater bar; blot spills immediately with a dry cloth and use professional cleaning for deep care.

Every RUGKARI rug is made to order by our Bhadohi atelier and dispatched in about 10 days. Shipping is free and insured across India, with doorstep delivery, order tracking and a GST invoice on every order.
