Stain Repellent
Rugkari Stain Repellent Protection — Beauty That's Built to Last
Life happens — spilled chai, muddy shoes, pet paws. That is why select Rugkari rugs come with a professional-grade stain repellent treatment that protects your investment without affecting the look, feel, or breathability of the rug.
What is Stain Repellent Treatment?
Our stain repellent treatment is a protective coating applied to the rug fibres after the weaving process is complete. It creates an invisible barrier around each fibre that repels liquid spills and resists staining — giving you extra time to clean up before a spill becomes a permanent mark. The treatment is safe, non-toxic, and does not alter the natural texture or colour of the rug.
What It Protects Against
✦ Tea, coffee & juice spills
✦ Food stains and oil marks
✦ Muddy footprints and dust
✦ Pet accidents (liquid)
✦ General everyday dirt and grime

How to Use It (When a Spill Happens)
Step 1 — Act quickly. Blot (do not rub) the spill immediately using a clean, dry cloth.
Step 2 — Work from the outer edge of the spill inward to avoid spreading.
Step 3 — For liquid spills, absorb as much as possible with a dry cloth first.
Step 4 — If needed, use a small amount of mild soap diluted in water. Gently blot and rinse.
Step 5 — Allow to air dry completely. Do not use heat or hairdryers on the rug.

Important Care Notes
— Do not scrub or aggressively rub treated rugs. It weakens the fibre and the coating. — Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals, and solvent-based cleaners. — The repellent treatment lasts 1-2 years under normal use. Re-treatment is available on request. — Professional rug cleaning is recommended every 12-18 months for treated rugs. — Stain repellent treatment reduces staining significantly but does not make rugs completely stain-proof. Prompt action is always essential.
